About Catering
India's Cuisine is as diverse as its regions. Its history can be traced back thousands of years. Each region's cuisine has been influenced by the areas surrounding it,as well as India's many religions.

Food patterns in India can certainly be linked to a region's natural eniornment and religious practices, but foreign influence also has played a large part. India's cuisine is as rich and diverse as her people. The spectrum of Indian cuisine can be said to lie between 2 dietary extremes;vegetarianism and meat eating.

It is the spices that give Indian food the exotic colours, textures, tastes and flavours. The ingenious art of using spices in different permutations is what makes Indian cuisine throughly unique. It is difficult to justify reference to such a complex, varied and beautiful cuisine by the all embracing term "curry". The word "curry"originated from the Tamil word "kadi"which simply means sauce.

Like all other facets of life, India' s culinary traditions are also constantly changing in relation to vegetarianism and non vegetarianism whereby adherence to a specific food habit becomes a powerful symbol of ethnic group and religious orientation.

A Little About My Self

I am originally from Mumbai and come from a family of technocrats. From early school days playing with and experimenting with food, cooking processes and baking used to be a great source of satisfaction and joy.

When in India I had my full fledged home based business of making speciality chocolates.I am proud to have created chocolates for a very high profile family of an ex raja in New Delhi for their family wedding function and also the Indian cricket team and the Indian Davis Cup teams.

We moved to the US and intially could not work due to visa restrictions.I utlized that wait for the coveted "green card" by constantly reading in the library.meeting and discussing food habits and differences in cooking styles as compared to traditional Indian style of cooking.Every visit to India I also learnt new dishes from family and friends.

Customer service has been my primary focus.I make it a point to discuss all the minute details with my client as per his /her requirements and take notes to remind myself during the preparation processs.
